Danube Guides Action 2.0 Project Kicked Off
National Tourism Cluster "Bulgarian Guide" is part of the international project "Danube Guides Action 2", which kicked off on April 10, 2024 in Ulm, Germany.
The Danube River, often referred to as the "Queen of Europe's Rivers", is a source of pride and admiration for many countries in its vicinity. Flowing through ten countries, it has played a significant role in shaping the history, culture, and economy of the region. As such, it is no surprise that the Danube Guides concept has been developed to showcase the beauty and importance of this majestic river. Recently, we received an exciting announcement that our organization has been chosen to participate in the international project "Danube Guides Action 2". This highly anticipated project had its official kick-off on April 10-11, 2024, in Ulm, Germany. The event brought together partners from various countries, including Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia, to name a few. For seven years, the Danube Guides concept has been in development by the Danube Office and its transnational partners, and it has received funding from the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. The primary goal of this project is to expand and strengthen the transnational Danube Guides network by providing necessary training and education for guides. Moreover, it creates a unique opportunity for transnational exchange and learning at a European level. The Danube Guides have been offering tours along the Danube River for many years, which have been incredibly popular among tourists. These tours provide a rich cultural experience, exposing visitors to the history, heritage, and traditions of each country through which the Danube flows. However, the project's main focus is to enhance the guides' skills and knowledge by introducing new training modules and courses that will benefit both the guides and the tourists. This project's significance cannot be overstated as it not only aims to improve the quality of the tours but also promotes intercultural exchange and cooperation between the countries involved. By participating in this project, we are not only representing our organization but also our country, and we are honored to be a part of it. The Danube Guides Action 2 project is a continuation of the first phase, which was successfully completed in 2017. The first phase focused on developing a unified and standardized guide training program, and it has been incredibly beneficial for both the guides and the tourists. With this new project, there is an even greater emphasis on further professional development and cross-border cooperation. We are thrilled to be a part of this project and eagerly await the results it will bring. The training and education provided through this project will undoubtedly elevate our guides' skills and knowledge, enabling them to provide an even more enriching experience for our clients. Moreover, the collaboration with our transnational partners will allow us to learn from each other's perspectives and share best practices, making our tours even better. As the Danube Guides Action 2 project progresses, we are confident that it will bring immense benefits not only to the guides but also to the countries and tourists involved. We believe it will strengthen the ties between the countries and foster a sense of unity and appreciation for the Danube River's cultural and historical significance. In conclusion, our organization is proud to be a part of the international project "Danube Guides Action 2". We are looking forward to the next seven years of this project and the positive impact it will have on our guides, our tourists, and the Danube region as a whole. Let us embark on this journey together and showcase the beauty and importance of the "Queen of Europe's Rivers".
